Music is a universal language and can be an influence of the foundation of other art mediums. Artists have been inspired by the reactions that music evokes within themselves and other people for generations. Emotions are an intricate part of what make us human, without feelings we would live in a monotonous world with nothing to live for. My artwork is a vivacious exploration of music felt subconsciously within the mind and body that is then relayed onto paper. The subconscious mind is a powerful tool that, without ones awareness, takes ones memories, beliefs, fears, and idiosyncratic map of reality and helps directs the course of what we do in life. The information that enters the subconscious mind, enters through the five senses including sight and touch. While listening to music, I let my subconscious mind guide my hand to create abstract drawings colliding them with various alternative photography processes and materials that make my collages cohesive. I like to think of my work as abstract expressionism that captures movement and bring my artwork to life.
